Workshop application

The DBS-22 Drill Bit Sharpening Attachment allows you to sharpen drill bits from 3 mm (1/8″) to 22 mm (7/8″) in diameter with maximum precision, creating a four-facet point for optimal performance. You can set the ideal tip and lip relief angle for each drilling operation based on the drill bit size and material, and even restore broken bits to their perfect shape.

Why Choose the DBS-22 Drill Bit Sharpening Attachment?

  • Four-Facet Point: Drills more efficiently and lasts longer.
  • Outstanding Precision: Ensures sharp, precise drill bits.
  • Extended Service Life: Increases drill bit lifespan over four times compared to traditional S-tip drill bits.
  • Compatibility: Works best with Tormek T-8 and older models.

Four-Facet Point for Enhanced Performance

The patented DBS-22 Drill Bit Sharpening Attachment creates a four-facet point that provides excellent cutting characteristics. Unlike conventional cone point drills, the cross-cut of the drill bit is pointed, reducing wandering and requiring less drilling pressure. This precision-sharpened point also minimizes heat build-up, significantly extending the drill bit's service life.

Proven Durability

Independent tests show that drill bits sharpened with Tormek equipment last over four times longer than new conventional drill bits. In a test conducted by Uddeholm Tooling AB in 2010, 15 mm (0.59″) deep holes were drilled in hardened steel using a 6 mm (0.24″) drill bit. At a speed of 1326 rpm and 0.15 mm (0.006″) feed per revolution, drill bits sharpened with the Tormek equipment lasted for an average of 327 holes, compared to 72 holes for new S-tip drill bits.
